I’m an anthropologist on the loose, with a camera. I’ll go anywhere for your pictures. You can find me most of the time in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where I live with my wife, on the verge of empty-nesting with just 1/4 of our kids still in high school.

I took my first photograph on the north rim of the Grand Canyon with my dad’s Brownie camera. Of course my parents let me nowhere near the canyon, so of course I was very disappointed with my washed out snapshot. I went on adventuring and eventually got a Ph.D. in anthropology. After the college professor thing wore out, I rediscovered my first crush: photography, which I can’t help but mix with my love of people and all their infinite ways of being human
Everyone deserves their best shot. I try to offer that and more, at a price that seems fair to you and me. Mostly I do this for fun, anyway (and to pay for my habit). So, come join me in that journey.
PS - Fran Dwight shot this cute pic of me. She’s great - check out her stuff! She’s for hire too!
